Children & Youth | Church School Church School
“Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”
All children are welcome here. The goal of Christ Church is to provide a caring environment where all children feel happy about searching for and discovering a relationship with God.
The Church School is a modern facility equipped with a nursery, classrooms, library, technology, and hang out rooms. Our Director of Religious Education is responsible for designing a curriculum based on the learning needs of the children. The core piece of the curriculum is a child centered program called Godly Play. Godly Play is modeled after Marie Montessori’s philosophy, where teachers manage the space and time but allow the children to create their own knowledge and meaning to the weeks lesson.
Our Sunday school is a lovely place for children to spend their Sunday mornings. Recent lessons have included nature walks around the Church grounds where the students shared in the beauty of God’s creation.
Our teachers are volunteers from the Christ Church community. In addition to the Godly Play component, teachers engage children with creative lesson plans that include reading, writing, listening, speaking, singing, dancing and role playing.
Our lessons aim to show sequence starting from the beginning of the Bible and will include Old Testament and New Testament stories. Our Godly Play room is also a sacred place. Besides showcasing the wooden hand crafted lesson materials, the Godly Play room houses a mini chapel where children will learn how to be a participant in weekly service.
The Church School represents a clear pathway leading closer to God. We invite your child to accompany us on our journey.
